Many companies were involved in the manufacture of pressed steel automotive toys which were often faithfully modeled after actual vehicles in production at the time they were made. Some were so sturdy that they have survived in good condition. Tonka Toys were built to last. Tonka first introduced it's full line of trucks in 1949 and is still in business today--- that's a lot of trucks-- all built for hours of enjoyment.
