"Dimestore" Indian, Cowboys, and soldiers were made from the 1920's until sometime in the 1960"s. They were made by several companies maily in Europe and imported into the US where they were sold by Kresge's and Woolworth's five and dime stores. Most were sold for five or ten cents each so they were called "Dimestore Indians, Cowboys, or Soldiers." Most are found with the paint worn off and with parts missing.
