Wedgewood is another name that usually means quality. Josiah Wedgewood built a factory at Eturia, England in the late 1700's. Early products included jasperware with a raised white border. Over the years these and other wares have been made and well used. Wedgewood still continues its tradition today.

In 1969 the company introduced its first issue Christmas plate which featured a London landmark, the Windsor Castle. Other plates continued to show famous buildings and historical sites of England. The company continued to create Christmas plates until 1988.
