Zuni Jewelry

Zuni Necklaces and Earrings

A large part of the Zuni Jewelry industry is the making of hand made fetishes from turquoise abalony, agate, serpentine, and mother-of-pearl, principally in the form of bears or birds.

Shown are three stands of fetishes of three lengths to be worn together or separately. longest strand - 24 bears, next longest - 23 birds and 1 bear. These two strands were hand carved from turquoise with turquoise heshie and pin shells between each by Sam Delena of the Zuni tribe.

The matching pair of earrings, each having one bird was also made by Sam Delena.
